The One where I isolated
With everything that happened last week. I needed to isolate, recoup, and focus on the books, which is exactly what I did from Monday to Friday between panicking… or stressing about life. Betas are loving Deadly Sirens and Dad’s doing better-ish.

Author's Life:
On Sunday, I got to see my dad again. He was doing better, and has improved this week. The doctors and therapists are thrilled with his progress, but Thursday his hemoglobin was down, so they had to do a blood transfusion. Friday, they did another before he had a procedure to fix his deviated septum, which was made worse from his broken nose. They’re not sure why his hemoglobin is low, so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers if you’re religious.
I’ve been doing my best to focus on writing, art, and editing in order to not worry about Dad or focus on how my body has decided to take this stress. It’s throwing a fit and not doing what it should even with the meds I’m taking, which were helping before. All of it is stress related, so writing and book stuff helps me destress. I’m hoping it will work itself out.
Also, a special shout out to my husband, Dale. It’s his 34th birthday today! My Viking has put up with so much and helped me through all this mess not just with the stress with Dad, having to step up and be the foreman at work, but also with my body and brain being whack. I really don’t say enough about how amazing, loving, and thoughtful he is ESPECIALLY during times of high stress.

A DANGEROUS GAME(ADG) was at 55,320 words as of Sunday morning and is now at 74,457. Not as much as I coulda done, but I was also editing and reading to Matt...

Editing:
I haven’t talked to Maxine since Sunday the 24th, everything’s been so busy for both of us. 🙃
I’m on the last 4 chapters of COOKIES & RAGE with Matt! We should’ve been done Thursday, but I was listening to it Thursday afternoon while working on the cover, and realized that I hadn’t gone over the last 4 chapters since I wrote them, and they REALLY needed editing. So, I worked on that Thursday and Friday night. Hoping to read the rest to him tonight!
Publishing:
Beta Reading for DEADLY SIRENS is going well! There were 5 surveys (of the 9 readers) before Friday Morning! I dropped the second chunk to them, and Matt turned his survey in just after I went to bed last night. Everyone has been loving it so far, and soon I’m going to need to make a picture of Havoc and Discord on the latter’s Ninja 😉 It’s been everyone’s favorite scene.

Art Feature:
I finally got back to doing art for AN ANGEL FALLS, this one comes from Chapter Twenty where Max, Kalista, and Forseti are at the docks in a shipping yard where they discover a ward with her sister’s blood (among others) used in it.
I also finished the cover of Cookies and Rage, but I can’t show you right now. I’ll show it off on December 27th, since it comes out in July 2026 and the Betas will be reading it come February. My Beta Readers over on Discord already got to see it… If they were paying attention to the chats in the server.😉
