The One with The surprise Order!
This week was amazingly refreshing from working on A DANGEROUS GAME (Kalista book 8) to an art commission, more art for DEADLY SIRENS, and spending Thursday afternoon and evening with my dad, it was a good week, and I got a lot of writing done!

This month's banner feature's Kalista and myself sitting under a tree in the middle of an autumn forest.
I have my laptop on my lap desk and Kalista is showing me something on her phone, which you can barely see in her left hand...
Author's Life:
Not much to say here. I wrote, I created five art pieces, one of which was a commission for Slade, a friend of nearly a decade and beta reader (click here to see the image), and spending Thursday afternoon/evening with my dad while mom had appointments and work (she’s a court clerk).
Small Update on Dad:
He’s healing well, getting a bit “bored” and keeps having to tell himself that he can’t do things around the house, so he’s been reading more. I let him know that I’ll have COOKIES & RAGE for him to read very soon, and he was excited for it. He’s been reading a new addition to the Shanara series by Terry Brooks (one of his favorite series & authors since I can remember). He has a rehab therapist coming to the house for therapy, and has loads of specialists to see. They say he should recover fully in about 6-8 months, but he should be walking in 1-2 months.
The work Life:
Writing:
A DANGEROUS GAME(ADG) was at 74,800 words and is now at 103,124. Yes, I’m finally back into the swing of things and I will finish it today! If all goes well and I don't second guess things. Then it's on to the next Kaliling novel.
Total word count for the week: 28,324 words
Editing:
I haven’t heard from Maxine for almost a fortnight, so I texted her last night to see how things were going. She's been so busy with unpacking and everyone settling into the new house that every time she tries to sit and read something happens. She's on Chapter 6 of 7 for chunk 1.
The proof copy of COOKIES & RAGE arrived! I LOVE IT, but I can’t show it off yet 😉 I'm going to wait until January. I’ll be started red pen edits in October! The Beta reading form opens in December!
Publishing:
Beta Reading for DEADLY SIRENS is still slow, as September has kicked everyone in the teeth. There were only 2 surveys turned in for chunk 2 on Wednesday when I dropped chunk 3 for those who had finished. All but one person has turned in the survey for chunk 1! That’s exciting, because I don’t normally get that many. Only 3 have done their survey for chunk 2 though another 1 got lost due to internet issues, so technically 4 got in by last night.

Shoutout to Aria L. who bought not only the Kalista Chronicles, but the pre order, and the Created Angel Novels too! That made my entire week!

Art Feature:
This week’s art is another Beta Reader Request that came from SEVERAL of them this time. As always there will be a snippet below, but this is Discord and Havoc on Discord’s Kawasaki Ninja which features in each one of the Deadly Sirens Series: Discord's Nightmare, Cry Havoc, and Chaos Theory.
from Deadly Sirens: Chapter 2
The distinct scream of a motorbike’s engine revved in the din of the traffic at the three way intersection out front of the church. I spotted a familiar black and red Kawasaki Ninja as it turned the corner and beelined for the parking spaces near Revenge. Was that her? I almost thought I was wrong, because someone was riding bitch, but the rider in front had Discord’s bodacious build. Her curvaceous form, familiar black and red leather jacket, and Clone Trooper’s Helmet in matching colours confirmed it. Why would Discord come to this funeral? She hadn’t been to Raphael’s…
“They’re here,” Chaos whispered, but she hadn’t meant to voice the thought, so I acted as if I hadn’t heard her. I focused on Discord and her passenger, waiting to see if I was right. We watched her park as we stopped at the ornate doors. Chaos was immediately greeted by the six-foot tall dark haired priest who was a preter, though not very high up the food chain. He wasn’t a threat, so I didn’t need to listen. I focused on the riders as they dismounted and pulled off their helmets.
The passenger slipped off the back and as her feet touched the ground, her leathers shifted into a short black dress with a lace overlay that was longer in back than in front. She pulled off her helmet and her ginger hair fell to her waist. My senses charged. It was Melody Amhrán. How did she know Discord? At that second, the taller woman pulled off her helmet and set free a mane of deep crimson red curls that made my heart race. My Áine was here.
