The One with yet another finished book!
Dealing with plumbing issues is stressful, especially when you’re renting, and you’ve done everything you can to fix it. I did a lot of writing though, and finished A DANGEROUS GAME!

Author's Life:
We’ve been having plumbing issues since last Saturday. If you don’t want details, skip to the next section, but if you do, here goes:
The toilet wasn’t flushing, the tub was draining super slow, and the kitchen sink was burbling when the toilet did flush, which wasn’t often or backwashing into the tub. Yuck! Then Wednesday night, I decided to try a small load of laundry. Something popped when the washer was draining the first time and there was backwash into the tub (which drained after an hour or so) and the toilet fully drained, so I quickly stopped it mid cycle.
Thursday, early morning, the toilet flushed without issue. So, I restarted the washer to test it, and it went through no problem. I told Dale when he got up and I was going to bed. He messaged me later and asked me to try both things again. Toilet had no issues and neither did the washer. Then, I asked if I should try a shower, which I hadn’t done at home since last Wednesday. Shoutout to my parents who let me come over Saturday to shower. He agreed, and I washed the tub first, there was no standing water, no slow draining, and no toilet burbles, which sometimes happens. It worked like a dream and all I can say is, “IT’S A MIRACLE!”
Because we tried EVERYTHING, our landlord had tried everything, and nothing fixed it. All we can figure is that the washer draining dislodged a clog. Hoping (and praying) we don’t have any more plumbing issues for a while.
Small Update on Dad:
The nurse who comes once a week to do physio/physical therapy says he’s doing amazing! It’s still going to be a few weeks before he’s able to walk again, but he’s regaining leg strength and doing much better!
The work Life:
Writing:
A DANGEROUS GAME(ADG) was at 103,124. It finished with 104,102 words. See, I told you I was going to finish it this week 😉.
So, I started editing/rewriting the second Kaliling book, only to realize that I should be working on the book which happens right before it THE STOLEN SOULMATE(TSM) (A Created Angel Novel), but when I opened that, I realized I needed to finish LIFE AFTER YOU(LAY) first because it impacts that book…
After writing 4,996 words into TSM, I switched to LAY, which is moving a lot faster than I thought and may end up my shortest book yet. 👀 I wrote a total of 13,455 words to bring it to 41,194 words in total, and a lot of things have wrapped up in it already… There needs to be another plot twist, I think, or it may just be a short 55k book… I don’t know yet. We’ll see what my manager thinks 😉
Total word count for the week: 19,429words
Editing:
Maxine’s still working through DEADLY SIRENS due to life and when she sits to read something always happens. I understand this more than I can share here, but she’ll still finish editing before it’s due to publish.
Publishing:
Beta Reading for DEADLY SIRENS had to be extended a week as September has kicked everything up a notch for everyone. Here’s the lowdown:
- Everyone has turned in the survey for chunk 1, which has NEVER happened before in the history of beta reading the Born Angel Universe!
- Chunk 2 has 6 of 9 surveys
- Chunk 3 has 4 of 9 surveys
- Chunk 4 has 3 of 9 surveys so far.

All the Kalista sales have closed and I’m a bit sad that only 2 people took advantage of the 66% discounts. *sigh* In spite of this, I did actually have other sales this week!
Shout out out to Alexander M. who bought ALL my books via the eBooks ALL THE BOOKS option, (which is discounted, just not as deeply as the 555 and 666 sale were).
Also futuresoldier83 who bought all my books off my itch.io page PLUS both of the bundles a couple of my books were in. Soldier, my Flabbers were gasted!
I’m very excited and hoping the sales continue and everyone who bought them read and rep them to others, since that’s the way 90% of sales work for Indie Authors. You repping our books does so much more than us talking about them.
Arcs & Damaged copy
If you were signed up to ARC read an Angel Falls, I will be sending out ebook copies on September 31st. If you signed up for a paperback copy, I will be sending them out as soon as I get all 4 copies. I only have 2 good copies right now, the other 2 were damaged in shipping. *grumbles*
I'm going to list 1 damaged copy under the preorder page for anyone who wants to buy a paperback copy and doesn't mind that it's got a bit of spine damage. It will still come with the sticker and bookmark, plus free eBook.
