The One with The Countdown!
It’s October! And the Countdown to Halloween and AN ANGEL FALLS has begun! At least here in the newsletter as I’ve been counting down to Halloween since last Halloween, and on the newsletter image since Devil’s Daughter dropped in July. Anyway, here’s a Recap of the September goals.

Author's Life:
This week has been a rather rough one, due to coming down with the bug. Both of Dale’s coworkers were sick last weekend, and I think he brought it home. >_< Having an autoimmune disease suck, especially when people Dale comes in contact with are sick or have just been sick, cause he brings the stuff home even if he doesn’t get it.
Bella scared us again Thursday night. She had another seizure, this is her second, and we don’t know what caused it, so we took her to the vet yesterday. She has Epilepsy, and there isn’t much we can do unless we want to put her on meds and keep her on them forever. This isn’t something that the Vet or we want as she’s only ever had two and they weren’t close together. He advised us to monitor them and see if there are any similarities or triggers that occur when they happen. If they get worse or more frequent, we can look into medication, but for now, we’re monitoring them.
September Recap and October Goals
I had 3 goals for last month, which I was too sidetracked by the travel for the funeral and Dad being in the hospital to tell you all about in the first newsletter of last month 🤦🏻♀️:
- 70k words written. Easily done. ☑️
- Finish A Dangerous Game. Finished it on the 20th. ☑️
- Stay on top of Beta Readers… this one was a semi-success. Cause I was on top of them, but life was kicking them while they were down.
Goals for October:
- Post a quote from Angel Falls every day.
- Edit Cookies & Rage
- Edit the Graduates (My best friend from college’s book)
- Write as I can but don’t get down if I miss a day… possibly 25k, doing more editing than writing.
The work Life:
Writing:
LIFE AFTER YOU was at 41,194 words and is now at 48,306 which isn’t much, but I was more concentrated on editing and dealing with Bella health issues than writing. I also wrote 618 words of a random piece after it popped into my had Thursday night.
Total word count for the week: 7,730 words
Editing:
Maxine’s still working through DEADLY SIRENS… Slow but steady as even more life things have come up. 🙃
Publishing:
Beta Reading for DEADLY SIRENS was extended a week as but it really didn’t make a difference… here’s the end states:
- Everyone has turned in the survey for chunk 1, which has NEVER happened before in the history of beta reading the Born Angel Universe!
- Chunk 2 has 6 of 9 surveys
- Chunk 3 has 5 of 9 surveys
- Chunk 4 has 5 of 9 surveys…
The reason some didn’t finish was due to life, family illness, work, and other shit happening to making it impossible to read this time, which makes me sad. I want people to get a break from life while they read not be struck by more and more BS in this chaotic mess called life.

Damaged copies
I only have 2 good copies right now, the other 2 were damaged in shipping. *grumbles* I'm going to list 1 damaged copy under the preorder page for anyone who wants to buy a paperback copy and doesn't mind that it's got a bit of spine damage and front slippage. It will still come with the sticker and bookmark, plus free eBook.
Art Feature:
This week’s art is a random piece of Sin, or Elsinore who is a background character in THE DEADLY SIRENS but more of a side character in COOKIES & RAGE, though she will be the love interest of another book… or perhaps the main character of a Paranormal Romance. Anyhow, this is Elsinore’s newest iteration. You can also see her in her half Angeliki in background of the header (She’s in the coffin).
