The One with Another Finished Book!
More rest = more words! I’ve not only reached my word count goal for the month a week early, but I also finished AN ANGEL ENRAGED on Monday! What more did I do? Keep reading and find out!

Author's Life:
This week, I stayed home. Except the quick trip to Mom and Dad’s to pick up Dad's copy of DEADLY SIRENS, which he finished editing last Friday, but forgot to tell me so I could grab it while I was at their house. 😅 It’s been a hard month’s work for him and his crew (which includes my husband, who is more a co-foreman than a worker).
Besides that, I thought up and finished the cover for AN ANGEL ENRAGED on Wednesday, which is a miracle, because Monday I had zero ideas other than it needed to match AN ANGEL ENSNARED and AN ANGEL FALLS, and it does perfectly… Though it’s making me want to go back and redo the cover of A BORN ANGEL in a more sunset tone so the first trilogy matches… Cause the next three are going to match in color scheme as well.😉
How do I know that already? Because my Manager (Matt) and I had a good two hour talk about the book series and where it’s going next. I had a few ideas, but he helped me beat out all the rough spots, and flush out the spots that were a bit fuzzy. I’m so excited to work on the next 3 books, which are rewrites of ones I wrote before A BORN ANGEL. I may do a 5th anniversary edition, cause I want that trilogy to match.
Anyway, enough excited jabbering, time to crunch the numbers.
The work Life:
Writing:
AN ANGEL ENRAGED: Kalista, book 7 IS DONE! Yet another cliffhanger ending, but as I’ve said on my social media, that’s just the promise of another book 😉 Last week, it was at 105,555 words and it finished with 121,760 words… before I added another 153 words in editing bringing it to 121,913 words for a total of 16,538 words by Monday night.
HOWEVER, I didn’t stop there. I went right on to start Kalista Book 8 (A DANGEROUS GAME), I wrote 3,140 words Tuesday, before I remembered I need to finish COOKIES & RAGE first, since it releases July 2026. So, I went back to that on Wednesday. COOKIES & RAGE and rage was at 73,710 last I wrote and it is now at 85,717 and nearly up to where the big stuff happens in the coordinating book DEADLY SIRENS. So, I wrote a total of 12,007 words for Astrid’s book.
Total word count for the week: 31,685
Publishing:
Beta reading has ended for AN ANGEL FALLS, at least in the Discord Server, but I still have a few who have not finished and one who has finished but still needs to write their survey. Out of the 8 who started reading via Discord 6 have finished and 5 have done their surveys. One is half done, and the other I’m not sure has had time to read with the shenanigans going on at her job. 🥺 BUT that’s more than I thought would finish so *celebrating*

Preorder for AN ANGEL FALLS will drop Thursday, July 31st on Amazon, and all the other pages shortly thereafter. I will be dropping the paperback and hardcover preorders as well! Sadly, it will only be book, bookmark, and sticker due to the lack of interest/purchase of the Book Box with tee shirts and/or hoodies. The Paperbacks will be $22+shipping, and the Hardcovers will be $27+shipping.
Note: Thank you to those who have purchased the Book Boxes in the past. I loved designing them and may make more available for purchase via Redbubble at a later date, but it’s no longer feasible, in the current economic climate, to buy and ship them myself.
Art Feature:
This week, I worked on the cover of AN ANGEL ENRAGED which doesn’t come out until Halloween 2026, so you don’t get to see it yet. 😉 However, I did make this picture of Kalista on the streets of Paris from said book, though it turned out more of “Kalista cosplays Alice from Alice Madness Returns” due to her hair, and she should be wearing a suit jacket or sports coat over her dress and not the sleeves. But I like how this came out anyway.
