I’m still trying to recharge from the social interaction of Book Bash, and it hasn’t really worked. The new WIP is going well enough, but I’m drained still, which isn’t helping anything. I need two weeks of no social interactions.

Author's Life:

      This week, I’ve been busy trying to get back on track and it’s been… hard to say the least. Between making covers for books that my main character Noelle has written to go in another picture (see the art for this week) and making sure I’ve been posting on socials again, I’m not just drained, my social battery is eroded, my heart hurts, and my soul is tired from all the idiotic decisions that politicians are making which is taking steps backward in progress…

       I’m sick of fighting and getting nowhere. Does that mean I’m going to give up? No. Does that mean I need to catch a break? Hells to the bells, yes. It would be nice if my body would stop hurting in new ways. My body has decided that, since I’m walking off due to knee pain, that now my hip is going to act up too, which usually can be fixed with a chiropractic visit, this time, I think I was too far out and it still hurts.

       I’m also dealing with arthritis flareups in my leg joints as well, which doesn’t help things. I blame the weather that’s been so wishy-washy this week. One day warm, the next day near freezing. Plus, this morning I woke up with a major migraine.

      But! Despite all of this, I went on a “mini” road trip  with my Nana (dad’s mom) yesterday and it was fun. We drove up four hours to see my cousin sing in a concert celebrating the 250^th anniversary of America. It was good, but some of the songs made me cringe cause America has a lot that made it great. Specifically, a line about immigrants being welcomed and finding safety here, and I just bit my tongue…

      Anyhow, I did a lot of work this week also! Read on for details.

The work Life:

Writing:

     The New WIP that still doesn’t have a title yet went from 22,900 words to 36,188. The story is progressing, though I had to do a big rewrite/rework as I messed up the timeline, but it's fixed now. The two main characters haven't met yet. They have talked over email… seems a bit old-fashioned for 2127, but it’s how things go when you’re trying not to scare off the Indie Author who’s dealt with a lot of trauma.

     Total word count for the week: 13,288 words

May Word Count Goal: 55,000 current progress 36%

Editing:

     I've added in another 15 chapters of Fated Angel this week and only have 10 left, which I’ll have finished by Monday. I’m still contemplating A Dangerous Game so that’s on the back burner until I have the new WIP finished. I also need to read through Cookies & Rage one more time to be sure nothing got missed.

     This weeks art is an idea from Lilah, one of my editors, best friend, and alpha reader. We have the Main Characters of the new WIP, Bryce, the CEO, reading Noelle’s first book, and Noelle writing her next novel.
