Silence of the Muse

I hate when my Muse decides to be a tw*twaffle who decided to give me the silent treatment for 3-4 days, and not let me write in any of the 4 WIPs I’m flipping between. It makes for a very frustrated and irritable author who goes on a lot of "virtual killing sprees" (aka I do a lot of gaming until she decides to talk to me).

Announcement!

Before I get into the news, The 200th newsletter drops on June 6th, and I’d like to do something interesting and fun. I have 4 ideas, and I’ve put them to my beta readers, but I’ll also have them right before the comment section (at the end of this newsletter) so you can vote on what I do for it. So far, number 3 is in the lead.

Author's Life:

Because my muse decided to give me the silent treatment, and I had nothing planned for the week, besides getting back into the swing of writing and editing again… But because my muse was being a tw*twaffle, I ended up editing then gaming until Thursday when she finally started talking again.

I played through Minerva’s Den (BioShock 2 expansion), finally finished off the Star Wars: the Old Republic Inquisitor Storyline, and earned Hero standing in Kessan’s Landing. I know that won’t mean a lot to some of you, but to others they’ll get the achievement here.

I did have a good time spending time with family last weekend, but I was “peopled out” and ready to have a few days rest. Which I didn’t get until Tuesday, because Monday I had to do errands and pick up my migraine meds. 😅 So, maybe that’s why my Muse was silent and angry for a few days. ANYHOW! I did get some work done this week.

The work Life:

Writing:

I didn’t get to work in the New WIP at all. Instead, I made some rewrites of Dangerous Game added about 1,800 words. Then I wrote 9,841 words into Dirge of the Betrayed from Thursday into Friday. It was nice to get back into that and it’s flowing again. Muse didn’t want to let me get to bed Friday morning, but I’m not complaining. I’m just glad she was talking to me again.

Total word count for the week: 11,609 words

May Word Count Goal: 55,000 current progress 57.2%

Editing:

I read through all of Cookies & Rage and sent that to Matt for eBook formatting. Then I finished the inputs for Fated Angel. It will go to Matt for edits next, soon as he gets Cookies & Rage finished

Art Feature:

Not so fun story. I spent a couple days working on art for this week, and it’s been rendering all week. Didn’t help that when it was nearly done the computer updated and restarted so I had to restart the render. It’s only 75% done… So, that will be next weeks picture. This week, I had to pull from things I haven’t shown here.

It was a hard choice, but I’ve decided to show off this picture I made of Danette "On the job". Danette is Chaos’s Heir and one of Max’s many daughters who becomes his second shadow after Midge moves back to the US.

Glad you got to decompress a bit and that your muse is talking to you once more. I vote option 3, because it would be interesting imo.
