Welcome back to business as usual… oh wait, life is throwing yet another curveball thanks to the idiocracy of the US Government shitshow. No, I will not be censoring myself this newsletter. Fair warning, it will contain swearing, government bashing, and begging you to go buy books, commission art or requests, and possibly short story writing, because as my godbrother said yesterday, “This free trip around the sun sure is expensive, isn’t it?” ~ Anthony J. Sims  (He’s an author too who was recently fired from a corporate fast food hack. Go check his books too.)

Author's Life:

     Why am I leading with that reminder? Because we’re going to be paying more for health insurance. $400 a month more (thank you to the government who lowered the maximum income for lower cost insurance *shakes fist at them*), which means we have to scrimp, save, and I need to make more money from my books and art since there is no room in our budget for anything right now. We also need to replace the muffler on the car ($400+) and that also needs to come out of Commission funds because again, budget will NOT fit it.

     My life this week has been fraught with worrying over this, because our insurance coverage needs to be decided by Monday (the better coverage ends on the 1 of July), and it’s also the day the rear hub gets fixed on the car ($194: covered by commissions already. Shout out to those who have commissioned art this week, thank you so much!).

     Anyhow, besides fretting over money matters. Bella had her annual vet visit on Monday. She had an anxiety attack and now has meds to take before she goes to see them again. Tuesday, I had my usual knee injection again. I spent Wednesday and Thursday in pain while working on art, and crawled into bed after FINALLY getting my brain to focus on story again Thursday night… only for Bella to wake me up 3.25 hours later, so if the newsletter seems to ramble on, that’s why. I’m running on spite, caffeine, a donut, and 3.25 hours of sleep. (I did take a 2 hour nap after writing the bones of this newsletter).

     Now, for the week, or two weeks in books, since I had a character takeover last week. Did y'all like it? I heard from like 2 people that it was cool, but that's it. 

The Books:

Writing:

     Last we left our intrepid adventurers…
     Just kidding. The Author and the CEO was at 90,585 words two weeks ago (May 30^th). Last week, it was going well, until I had to get the character takeover typed up, which was a grand total of 437 words… Yes, that’s all it was, but it still counts. The WIP however jumped from 90,585 to 104,219, which is 13,634.

    The book then jumped another measly 1,861 words and is, of this writing only at 106,080 words. BUT I also wrote a short story on Sunday night for my husband for our anniversary which was Monday the 8^th (we’ve been married 13 years now), and that was another 2,182 words.

     Total word count for the last 2 week

     May 31-June 5: 14,701

     June 6-June 12: 4,043

June Word Count Goal: 65,000 current progress 22.15%

Editing:

    I’ve been editing An Angel Enraged, because the beta readers just got the 1^st chunk today! Matt and April have finished, several others will be working on it today (I have been told 😉 )

Art Feature:

    This weeks art is going to be a compilation of what I’ve done this week, because art! So, we have a few chibis, 2 3D renders, and a "Punny Skull". I’ll talk about them top to bottom and left to right.

1. (TL) A character y’all have yet to meet in the books (The Angelic goddess in the bottom corner), Doctor Diana Clairmont is how she will be introduced into the Born Angel Universe as a side character for The Author and The CEO.

2. (TC) the cute yet lethal Chibi, also Doctor Diana Clairmont though in her Marshal role and mortal form and yes, her hair is naturally that red, holding her hand forged Ace of Spades (from Destiny 2).

3. (TR) Krieger in the Trench. This is a Chibi commission of a WarHammer 40,000 character with his “entrenchment tool” which is basically a shovel that collapses.

4. (BR) A Mermaid version of Aleema, who is the character of Slade (Aka GraniteGhost on many social media platforms or Slingblade87 on DA… he also has a book in the works, I will promote it when it releases to the public no matter how much he bemoans it).

5. (BC) a chibi respresentation of how I feel right now. The world is on fire, but I have my books and they're what's helping me through (Besides all the amazing people in my life).

6. (BR) A Punny Skull. I did a series in 2020 with 4 "Punny Skully" that were much like this little "Brain Frog". If you wanna see them, you can click here.
