A Miraculous Comeback!

       July is here and, like the title says, I made a miraculous comeback with my word count!  Smashwords annual summer/winter sale has started. You can get my first four books for free, and the rest on a MASSIVE discount! Please, head on over to Smashwords and check it out.

Author's Life:

     This week wasn’t great for stress and my moods. It was hotter than usual, which my body is not a fan of. I coped with writing a lot, but I had to go out of the house Thursday and Friday, which were the two hottest days, for my yearly physical and monthly chiropractic appointments. I was also stressed because my new insurance card didn’t come in before my physical, and I didn’t have my numbers or anything. 😣 So, I have to call when I have them.

      Besides that, I worked on a big commission this week, AND I wrote over 36,000 words in four days to make up for not writing enough and smashed my word count goal!

The Books:

Writing:

   Since I was behind with my word goal for the month, I locked in, turned off notifications, and focused hardcore on writing. Saturday, after the graduation party and a nap, I wrote 7,480 words. Sunday, was slower, due to migraine but I wrote 1,965 words, but Monday I focused and FINISHED The Author and the CEO with a total of 10,582 words. That book started the week at 123,717 and finished at 143,030 words on Monday Night.
    I then switched to Autumn’s Equinox on Tuesday, and wrote 10,401 words, which more than doubled the words that were in it. It brought me up to 68,373 words total for June, which was 105% of my goal!
    I didn’t stop there though! For the Month of July my goal is another 65,000 words, but I’m going to pace better. For the first 3 days of July I’ve written 8,608 words, which is 13.24% of this month's goal! And Autumn's Equinox is at 26,169 words. Which makes this my 2nd highest word count week of the year!

     The Total word count for this week: 40,261 words

June Word Count Goal: 65,000 finished at 105.2%
July Word Count Goal: 65,000 current progress 13.24%

Editing

  I edited chapters 18-25 of An Angel Enraged, and the beta’s got chapters 16-20 yesterday morning. Here’s where we stand for numbers of who has finished:
Chunk 1: 6 of 8
Chunk 2: 5 of 8
Chunk 3: 4 of 8
Chunk 4: 1 of 8 ⬅️Newest Chunk.

We have 2 more weeks and 1 more chunk left for Angel Enraged!

    I didn’t get to do a lot of art this week, mostly because I was so busy writing. So, you get this piece from Cookies & Rage as a countdown to the release. If you follow me on BlueSky you’ve seen this before and gotten the snippet. This is when Kalista calls out her daughter, Astrid’s inaccurate one-liner with one of her own. 😉

Chapter 11 Snippet: Cookies & Rage

      “… I prefer my alcohol like I prefer my room, neat,” I quipped, and Makumae chuffed from behind me. I turned to see her leaning against one side of the archway while Chaos watched just outside the other with Discord between them and Uncle Max behind Makumae.

     “Your room isn’t neat,” Makumae corrected, and I shrugged.

     “Neither is my alcohol. Both are chaotic but organized. That’s how I packed everything in less than half an hour,” I defended myself, and she rolled her eyes.

     “You were quicker than I expected, I will give you that,” she praised as Kotys set a tall glass near the risers.

     “You can use anything from there… Except this,” she amended, taking the bottle of Chaos Theory. I internally cursed my luck that she thought of it, but she spoke before I could comment, “I need to get these out of the house.”

     “Or at least not where the short ones can reach,” Uncle Max added, and Kotys looked to him.
