It’s the end of the month and while I got a lot done editing and art commissions, I’m only halfway through my word goal for the month. 👀 That’s not normal for me and I’m going to have to put the pedal to the metal for the next few days to meet the goal.

Author's Life:

     Given everything that’s happened this month, from insurance changing, doctors appointments, helping family, and art commissions, I’ve fallen behind on my word count goal. I’m not used to being so stressed or in so much pain that I can’t drop down into the writing gear. Usually, writing is my way of destressing, but life and my body has had my brain too preoccupied to get the words in…

     This week, the car gave me a scare too. After taking Gram to the doctors on Tuesday (which we used her car for, so mine just sat at her house), four lights flashed on the dash. ALL of them were tire related, and in the back of my brain was intuition saying it had to do with that hub they replaced last week. Turns out my intuition was right. Yesterday, after calling them, they said it was ok for me to get my errand done then come down to see what codes were up.

    After driving down to garbage dump then to the grocery store, the lights were off. Strange. But I still went to get the codes checked. Sure enough, it was that same tire they just replaced the hub on. Seems the sensor in that new hub was bad. So, they’re going to replace it when I get the muffler replaced on the 8th.

     Oh well, that’s life. 😅

The Books:

Writing:

      This week, I’ve focused solely on writing in The Author and the CEO. It was at 107,672 and is now at 122,640, which is more than 15k words, BUT my goal for writing this month was 65,000 words, and I’ve only managed to write 43,990 words so far. Which means I need to write 7,070 words a day for the next 4 days. Wish me luck!

     Total word count this week: 14,698

Editing

    I edited chapters 11-16 of An Angel Enraged, and the beta’s got 10-15 last night. 6 of the 8 beta readers finished the first chunk! and I know a 7th has started it but life has been stressful for them too. 4 of 8 betas have finished chunk 2 as well! Still loving it! And I anticipate that 2 will have the 3rd chunk done by tonight, one has already finished it. 😏

•      “Regrettably, I can’t stay,” he apologized then looked to Forseti again. “I’ll be seeing you.”
       “For your sake, Lokædoi (idiot, Moron, stupid head), you should hope not,” Forseti half threatened as his eyes glowed.
  
  
•      “I understand your sentiment about clawing out Morgana’s eyes, but who’s the other…” Serenity dropped it as (redacted) stiffened, and we looked to her. She shuddered then clapped a hand over her mouth as her cheeks tinged green. I lifted an eyebrow and tilted my head. Chapter 7 Snippet:

      I stopped on the top step and turned to watch him smile at the pictures. “I didn’t see these when I got up. You placed them in chronological order.”

      I looked at them again and smirked. “It wasn’t intentional. I wasn’t really thinking about their order.”

      “I love you,” he said with a smirk. I tilted my head unsure why he was saying it, or why a deep blush burned my cheeks.

      “I love you too,” I replied, before my stomach growled, “but I’m also hungry, and I heard your stomach growl a few times too. Let’s go find something to eat.” I held my hand out to him, and he took it with a smile.

      “Beautiful, good homemaker, and wise… I think I’ll keep you,” he joked, and I rolled my eyes.

      “You don’t have a choice, Monsieur Drascul. You’re stuck with me,” I shot back, teleporting to the front door. He spun me around and playfully pinned me against the door. He leaned down until our faces were inches apart and my breath caught.

      “I never wanted another choice,” he whispered then gave me the lightest of kisses, “It has always been, and will always be, you.” He pulled back, taking me with him, and opened the door. “Now, let’s go find something to eat that’s actually nourishing.”

      My cheeks burned as I thought about him eating me in the coffin, and I was speechless. I let him lead me down the walk, out the front gate, and toward the Seine with my hand in his.
