The One with the Accomplished Goals...
The Week of accomplished goals! It’s been a good week for writing, not so much for sales, but I’ve smashed 1 of 3 goals for the month!
Author's Life:
There’s been nothing really going on in the personal life. I’ve been very focused on writing and editing. My husband and I are back to visiting my grandparents on Saturday’s, which I’ve been thoroughly enjoying. Besides that I’ve been going live on TikTok with my friends a lot this week while I work, and I’ve been sprinting with a couple other friends…
That last one sent me on a depressive spiral the other night, because these two friend—who I sprint with a lot—were gushing about each other’s books, deep diving into characts, and plans for series. That would’ve been fine, but they were doing that instead of writing for 20 minutes, in serial text style, which means I get dozens of messages while I’m writing, plus I felt isolated since I haven’t read their books, and they’ve not read mine (I’m pretty sure). So I spiraled, and ranted about it on BlueSky…
It’s okay. I’m ok now. I know my books aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, they’re more like a shot of Chaos Theory (if you get that reference, thank you). Besides that depressive spiral, Wednesday night/Thursday Morning, I’m doing better now. I think. Still mad at myself for not getting more sales in since my goal was 20 sales for the month, I’ve gotten 12 of that 20 so far… BUT I have blown my writing goal out of the water!
The work Life:
Writing:
I have finished Miseria’s book (Death, Desires, and Inner Demons {2029}) this week! Last week’s WC was 107,520, the book is now complete at 114,623 words (before the extras). That’s 7,103 words… but that’s not all!
I was going to get back to An Angel Enraged, but I remembered that I wanted to put out Cookies & Rage, which is the first Kali-ling Novels*, next year after The Deadly Sirens releases. I went to edit so I could begin writing again. After rewriting the prologue from Kali’s perspective, I decided that the whole book needed a complete rewrite. I’m now 33,140 words into that book… which means I’ve written 40,243 words this week! AND I’m at 67,748 words of my 50k word goal for the month!
(*Kali-ling Novels are about Kalista’s kids, and will be standalone books, usually featuring their love story or some such thing.)
Editing:
Maxine is still on chunk 4 of 4 for An Angel Falls!
I have edited 5.5 Chapters of The Deadly Sirens, and am tandem reading/editing it with Cookies & Rage as they happen at the same time, and a few events happen in both books.

Publishing:
Kalista Chronicles Omnibus comes out on Amazon, Libby, and all the rest on June 8th! You can still preorder the Paperback and Hardcovers, but they will not arrive on release day. I will ship them as soon as they come in.
FOR THOSE WHO ORDERED HARDCOVERS, they're going to be a bit late as they're taking a bit longer to come in again. 🙄 Gotta love supply and demand issues.

Art Feature:
This week, is a piece of art from The Deadly Sirens. I’m not going to give the snippet, but it came out too good not to show off. It is so hard to get the camera posed for "in the car" pictures, but here we have (R to L) Max, Chaos, and Discord in Revenge (Max’s heavily modified 1965 Pontiac GTO) having a conversation in Chapter Four. Max looks so weird with short hair.
