Weekly Newsletter 147: May 31

      I FINISHED THE RED PEN EDITS! Which means I completed my 2nd of 3 goals for the month. Sadly, I’m not going to reach the 3rd goal. 🥺 BUT there is a cover reveal for the next book, An Angel Falls at the end of this newsletter.

Author's Life:

    Before I give a monthly recap, this week was pretty tame. On Monday, we had a “picnic” at my parents house. That went well, and yes, I took Deadly Sirens with me to edit. Because it needed to get done this week. All in all, it was a relaxing afternoon.

Now, for the Monthly Recap:

     I had 3 goals and we’re going to go over them and how well/badly I did.

1) Write 50k words:
     Specifically, to finish writing Death, Desires, and Inner Demons, and then go on to An Angel Enraged… I did the first, but instead of moving on to AAE, I flipped to rewriting Cookies & Rage, which potentially comes out June/July of next year. I ended up writing over 80k words after my writing sprint last night. (Check the Writing and Editing section to see the final count)

2) Red Pen Edit Deadly Sirens
     I finished this goal late Wednesday Night, right before a gastric episode that lasted nearly 36 hours. >_< That wasn’t nice, but I got the edits done! Now I just need to add them in.

3) Hit 20 sales…
     This is where I failed, or I should say that I did my best, but only made it nearly 2/3 of this goal. I had 12 sales this month, which was 8 short of my goal, and I’ve been trying not to beat myself up about it.

The work Life:

Writing:

     I was 33,140 words into Cookies & Rage last week. Today, after my writing spree last night, I’m at 46,205 … which means I’ve written 13,065 words this week. Yes, I wrote 80,813 words this month.

Editing:

    Maxine is still on chunk 4 of 4 for An Angel Falls... I need to talk to her about that.

    I have edited ALL of The Deadly Sirens! This weekend, I'm going to work on putting in all those edits. 😅
