The One with Another Busy Week
This week was rather busy for this Indie Author. From the usual knee injection to Friday’s not normal procedure, it’s been a LONG week, and I’m happy to say I have absolutely nothing planned for this week, EXCEPT writing. Let’s jump into the busy week.

This month's banner feature's Kalista standing on the streets of Paris which was featured in the last blog of July.
Author's Life:
Sunday was a nice relaxing destress and de-socialization after the big family get together last Saturday. Don’t get me wrong, I love having family around, but it gets overstimulating faster when there are more people. I enjoyed it, just glad it wasn’t more than one day.
Monday was my usual knee injection at the Orthopaedic. Took all of 30 minutes from arrival to departure. Then I took my laptop to a café around there and waited for Dale (My Viking and hubby) to get done with work. I picked up dinner then him from work. It was a nice day.
Tuesday, I was really hurting, so I just did a few errands around town, mostly for the Thursday cleanout, and posting promos to social media. Then I went to bed early so I could get up Wednesday, at the crack of dawn, for Traveller (Roleplay Game with my Australian friends), which I got to blow up a ship and vaporize some heavy artillery marines. *rubs hands together evilly* I also made April laugh a lot, and asked questions that made the GM (Matt, my Emotional Support Australian and “Manager”) say, “It’s scary when she gets enough sleep.”
I spent the rest of Wednesday Writing. I took a couple breaks to post about writing. I wrote 10k words that day, which was good because, I had no brain for it or the ability to sit long enough without interruption on Thursday and Friday.
Thursday, I had to prep for Friday’s Colonoscopy… Oh, did I mention I was having one of those this week? I didn’t. Oops! Anyway, I didn’t have a problem with the process until I took Bella (our adorable dog) outside and our neighbors were smoking what I’m allergic to… again. At least they were doing it outside, but getting hit with anyphyllaxis on an empty stomach with my body cleaning itself out was as my nurse put it "Adding insult to injury". **TMI SKIP TO FRIDAY IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH** I ended up puking as well as the other stuff. I have never puked so violently in my life, and never EVER wish to do it again. My abs still hurt.
Friday, I got up early, took a shower, and played a bit of Star Wars the Old Republic with Matt before Dale took me to the hospital for the Colonoscopy at 9:30. I didn’t actually get taken back for the procedure until after 11 due to an emergency that came up. SHOUTOUT to the nursing staff in the Surgery department of UPMC Chataqua, especially Laura who will probably never see this. She was amazing and made it seem like far less time than it was. *clears throat* I also got good news! It’s NOT Colitis or Crohn’s and I don’t have to have another until I’m like 45 (At least that’s what the Doc said)! We’re still not sure what’s causing my gastric episodes. I think it may be that I’m allergic to something I eat, and my body reacts badly to it. Like Red40, which I cut out of my diet back in February, which has helped.
After the procedure, Dale and I went to lunch at Subway, then grocery shopped together (which hasn’t happened in YEARS), and came home to the puppy. I played more Star Wars, cause my brain wasn’t there and I was still not feeling right, which is why this newsletter is late.
Today, I’m feeling MUCH better and my brain is back. We went back to Nana and Papa’s house so Dale could do the yardwork, and I helped Nana bake cookies. We also had lunch with them too. I enjoy getting to spend time with them like this during the summer months. Anyway, then we came home and I was laying down for a nap when I remembered the newsletter. I also didn’t make any art this week, so I got distracted with art then sat down to write this after dinner…
See, LOOOONG Week. Now, how did I do writing-wise?
The work Life:
Writing:
I FINISHED C🍪🍪KIES & R🤬GE MONDAY! I wrote the last sentence before leaving for my orthopedic appointment. It ended with 107,886 words, which is 11,223 words written mostly on Sunday with about 700 written Monday Morning. Then I got to work on A DANGEROUS GAME, which started the week out with 8,575 words. I wrote a total of 13,146 words on Tuesday and Wednesday, which brought it to 21,721 words.
Total word count for the week: 24,369
Editing:
Maxine still has chunk 1 of DEADLY SIRENS, and I haven’t heard anything from her this week as she was moving. I’ll check in with her on Monday and see how things are going. I may have to recruit Dee to help edit this one, since there are only 20 days until Beta Reading starts 😬. I’ll give Maxine a couple more days to start…
Publishing:
Beta reading for DEADLY SIRENS starts in 20 days on Friday the August 29th and goes until September 26th.
~
I’m still short betas, so if you want to read about the Deadly Sirens From Max’s perspective and the BIG BATTLE we’ve been waiting for the form is still up! WARNING: This book does have Kinky stuff in it as there is a throuple (three preson couple, for those who don't know the lingo), some knotting, and shyfted sex on the page, plus blood and gore due to the battle. Find out more by clicking the cover.
Pre order: An Angel Falls

the 555 Sale announcement!
Starting Friday, the 15th of August and ending Friday the 19th of September,
you can grab all 5 of THE KALISTA CHRONICLES for just $5!
The sale will be under the eBooks listing here on my website or over on itch.io.
Art Feature:
Since I didn’t get to make any art this week, I’m going to give you the promo I made for AN ANGEL FALLS, because I don’t think I’ve shared this picture before. It comes from Chapter 22/23 where Kalista is trapped in a pentacle ward, and the quote was the beta reader’s favorite. No snippet with it because there are way too many spoilers.
To sign up for the email reminders for this and other news,
head over to the contact page and fill out the second form.
Thanks for reading!
