The One with ups and downs...

The word for this week is Stressful. There was a lot of ups and downs in a short amount of time and next week is going to be busy.

New banner featuring Kalista in Paris plus the next 2 books to release!

This month's banner feature's Kalista standing on the streets of Paris which was featured in the last blog of July.

Author's Life:

Starting out with some sad news, last weekend my husband’s grandmother, who has been frail for a year or two, fell on Saturday, and was not doing well Sunday. So the beginning of this week was tense while we waited to see what would happen. She passed on Tuesday night. We’re thankful she’s no longer in pain, but she will be missed by many. We'll be going on a road trip for the funeral this week.

Wednesday, I had woke up with a killer migraine but couldn’t take anything for it due to doctor’s orders after the colonoscopy, so I slept and felt genuinely useless/worthless. Thursday, I got to do all the chores I was planning to do Wednesday, and write a little, while trying not to aggravate the small headache I had.

Thursday night, technically Friday morning, Bella got sick. We think it was just a hairball of some sort, cause she’s been acting fine and chipper the last 18 hours. She gave me a scare though, cause she wasn’t acting normal Friday morning, but by 2 p.m. she was back to her normal chipper self.

Friday night, we went over to Nana & Papa’s for family dinner as her youngest brother was up from GA with his family. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Leah about books, specifically mine, but I may have a new reader. 🥳 Anyhow, today is a rest and write day as with all that going on, plus trying to do more social media advertising/marketing—which isn’t going well—my brain was not in the best place to write, but I still made time to write.

The work Life:

Writing:

A DANGEROUS GAME (ADG) was a bit slow this week with everything going on. It started this week with 29,080 words, and now has 42,190 words, a gain of 13,110 words… Which is more than I thought. Then I started another little side project with 2,009 words. I’m kinda surprised I wrote 15,000 words this week… Damn.

Total word count for the week: (11,513)

Editing:

I have not heard anything from Maxine this week… I’m getting very worried about her and this move taxing her mental health, but hopefully the payoff and stability will be worth it.

Dee, however, has finished DEADLY SIRENS, and loved it! Thank you, Dee, for reading it so fast and getting it back to me with edits! Even if that means I’ve lost you as a beta reader to editor instead 😉

Publishing:

Beta Reading for DEADLY SIRENS starts NEXT FRIDAY (the August 29th) and will go until September 26th

Preorder: An Angel Falls

Preorder AN ANGEL FALLS today! You can find all the info, plus where to get it by clicking here! 🥳 No orders again this week, but I'm pushing the 555 & 666 sales too, which only had one purchase this week. 🙃

If you love the series, please talk spread the word, as my talking about it is getting low views, and even lower interaction, because it's my book. If you talk about it, hype it up, people might actually take an interest. Word of mouth goes a lot farther than you think.

the 555 Sale has begun!

Ending Friday the 19th of September!

You can snag all 5 of THE KALISTA CHRONICLES for just $5, which is 66% off!! The sale will be under the eBooks listing here on my website, or over on itch.io

Why am I doing this? Because I want those who have not read the series to be able to snag them and read them before book 6, AN ANGEL FALLS drops on Halloween, which is in 69 days! Also, you can sign up to ARC it today (signups close September 1st)!

Wanna save even more? If you go over to Ko-Fi, you can get all 6–Yes, this includes the Pre-order–for only $6 in the EXCLUSIVE 666 sale. 😉

Art Feature:

I got to create more ‘I can’t show you’ art this week. The cover for A Dangerous Game has been started, it’s rendering via DazStudio as I type this, though it’s just part one as there are a few more elements I will have to render then use my magic to work it all in. 😉 But I made this piece before I started that. (description below)

Here we have Kalista crouching on the floor of the atrium which may be a familiar sight for some of you who follow me on DeviantArt.com or if you’ve been reading the newsletters since the Brave Sacrifice days (Newsletter 60) where Kalista was crouched with a staff in the same atrium. She looks more confident, less beaten, and definitely more calm, even though her eyes are red and her markings are glowing.

This picture is going to be from a “nightmare” scene in A Dangerous Game. That’s all I will say, because I haven’t written it yet. 😉

Thanks for reading!
