We’ve made it through the first full week of February! Tomorrow is the Super Bowl, but this week has been in one word: exhausting. Author's life is a bit rambly, but that's normal for the lack of sleep I've been dealing with this week. 

This year I'm only doing seasonal changes to the picture. For Winter, we have Astrid in the snow.

Author's Life:

      February has started off on a rather rough note. I’ve had trouble sleeping, functioning, and writing. For the first three days of the week I was still trying to get my leg to allow me to walk around and do things other than focus on a rather LARGE art project (see the end for more details on that). For the second half I was struggling with sleep.

      Wednesday morning I managed 3.5 hours but when Dale got up around 5:30 a.m. my body decided that I should be up to. I stayed awake all day due to spontaneously being asked to babysit from 10 am to 5:20 p.m. and got home, ate, finished up some art and crashed hard at 7 p.m. then slept for 6.5 hours, waking up at 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

     Thursday was generally ok, though I dealt with vertigo between 5-9 am, followed by a migraine that started around 10:30. I powered through both of those baked muffins, cupcakes, and a 9x9 cake, because I decided to make cake from scratch, for the first time, following the recipe on the back of the Hershey’s Cocoa box (pic below). I also browned the beef for Tacos before I went down for a nap at 2:30 pm and woke back up at 4:45 p.m.

     Needless to say, Friday morning I tried to go to bed for a full six hours at 2 a.m. only for my body to decide that when Dale’s alarm went off, halfway through those 6 hours, I needed to be awake too. I had a full day of errands yesterday starting with going to the recycling return, the dump, the grocery store, and my monthly chiropractic visit (which I felt overdue for). I left around noon, taking AN ANGEL ENRAGED which I’m red pen editing with me. When I got back around 3:45 Bella refused to go back upstairs so I could get in a nap at a more decent time. So, I waited until Dale got home, while dozing and editing on the couch, then went up to nap around 7 and got back up at 10 stayed up most of the night… so I could then get some decent sleep this morning.

      This week was brutally cold too… so I partially blame the pain that wouldn't let me sleep on that. Once one thing got comfy another would complain. I'm told it's the way of things as you age... But I'm only 33 😣 and I've been "falling apart" since I was 18. 😔 Oh well, on to the work life, which was much better than I thought.

Writing:

      This week, BALLAD OF THE WINGED WRATH went from 41,060 to 52,285. WOOHOO! That means I wrote 2.5k more than last weeks final word count. I was thinking it’d be less. Just goes to show that word counts, like time, fly when you’re enjoying it. Though, I can’t say this book has been particularly enjoyable... it's been a roller coaster of emotions that is going to end in tears... but book 2 will be better.

      Total word count for the week: 11,225 words

Editing:

      Another slow week for editing though. Only managed to edit 4 chapters of AN ANGEL ENRAGED and 0 for FATED ANGEL between my ows, getting sick (did I not mention I caught a cold too?), the sleep issues, and Matt having unexpected doctor’s appointments we didn’t have a good day between us. This next week isn’t looking promising either as Matt has several medical appointments. Here’s to getting the book edited by February end.

Since Chaos won, fair and square, I'll be writing another story with her.
Now to decide when that story should take place...

     I’ve spent all weekend (starting Friday the 30^th) working on the characters for this piece of art here.
