Congrats, you’ve completed week 16 of 2026! It’s been a long, weird week for me, and I had to take some downtime away from everyone to recharge for a bit, but then got right back to the grind.

Author's Life:

      This week has been long, and not quite as restful as I hoped. My hips have been bothering me, the weather has been warmer with quite a few thunderstorms, which messes with my joints more and more each year. After the late night last Saturday, I brought out my sewing machine and made a few sleep masks, though I need to adjust them as the elastic is too tight. I'll fix them this weekend. Just didn't feel like hauling my sewing machine back out from under the bed.

     I had to take a couple days of radio silence to simply not talk to anyone (Sun-Mon) and recharge my social batteries after becoming overstimulated and near panicky Sunday. I hate having to tell my friends that I can’t talk because of that, but it’s healthy to get away and just be by oneself… I’ll probably need to do a lot more of that after Book Bash next week.

      Speaking of Book Bash! If you want to know more about it scroll down to the bottom of the page, under the art for the week, for details. I’ve been getting ready for it for months and nailing down all the final plans is making me excited. We’ll see when the nerves hit this week. 😉

    Tuesday, I also stopped in to see my Aunt Denise, and hand deliver her Pre order copy of Deadly Sirens. Her dog Roxy was very talkative and didn't much like me being in her space LOL. We blame the Chihuahua part of her breed 😉 Chihuahuas aren't my biggest fans, but that's ok. I also got bloodwork done before going and GOOD NEWS: thyroid levels are lower than they've been in almost 5 years! woohoo!

Editor Update:

     Matt is doing amazing! He had his follow up with the doctor on Friday and his recovery has been better than anticipated, and everything is going well. He’s got a lot of appointments in the following weeks though for regular routine things and a few more heart follow-ups.

The work Life:

Writing:

     Last week, I talked about small worlding and how I had to work on the Angel of Wrath Duology. I cut 13k words from book 1, Ballad of the Winged Wrath, and added 11k of it to book 2, Dirge of the Betrayed, which turned into nearly 20k words now… and that’s without what I’d previously written for it. I still have to bridge that gap. I also wrote a couple thousand words into A Conman Falls (Kalista book 10) as well, so we have a larger number this week!

     Total word count for the week: 11,416 words

Editing:

      I’ve not added in any edits of Fated Angel yet… it was a weird week. Matt and I have finished Ballad of the Winged Wrath, which is why it was cut by 13k words. Matt convinced me that I should end it 13k words before I was going to, but those got mostly moved to the next book. Lilah has also edited through Ballad of the Winged Wrath, and I added in her edits from Life After You, Macha's book, as well. 

     Matt and I are going to read through Kalista book 8, A Dangerous Game, next! Though, I've also ordered the Proof Copy of Death, Desires, and Inner Demons the first of the Born Angel Novels (coming July 2027) to edit as well. It comes in on Wednesday. I'm hoping it will speed up the printing of the other copies I've ordered too. 🤞🏻

Art Feature:

     Since I made Xedrix last week, I got stuck on the Áiféiseach family (aka the Chaos Crew), so I took 3 days to model the next 5 kids in the lineup then pose them for this picture… These “kids” belong to Discord, Max, and Chaos, and are the only ones we know of per the moment. I could add at least 20 more to the mix if I went and made all of the ones I know of right now, plus Discord’s kids and grandkids, but for now we have these 9 characters.

     In the front is Max with Chaos and Discord. To the left are Musette, Ariette, and Xedrix. To the Right are Danette, Nanette, and Jeanette. Max has a thing for the -ette ending.
