"Rest and Productivity"
Can they really go hand in hand? This week they did! I'm surprised, shocked, and concerned becuase the restful sleep wasn't in my usual window of rest, but it was good sleep, and I've been going to sleep "early"... idk what to think of this.

I’ve had to postpone the car fix for now, due to it being a week to September and being $116 short of the $400 for insurance still, BUT I’m not worried, I have a commission payment this week that'll cover most of it. I just need one more chibi commission or someone getting the ALL THE EBOOKS bundle.

Author's Life:
Sunday was a great writing day, and I FINISHED the current WIP (scroll to writing update for that) with a LONG writing day. Monday, I had a migraine, which I woke up with it but managed to do all the things I needed to before heading to bed early. Tuesday, I had a larger migraine with dizziness/vertigo, which I’m sure was caused by the weather. I edited most of both days, but Tuesday I ended it by playing a little Star Wars the Old Republic before bed. My favorite way to unwind! Though, I wasn’t able to stay online as much as I wanted due to being too sleepy. Cue my grumbling about early nights.
Wednesday, I did even more edits, then drew up some art from the book as it stuck in my head (it's at the bottom of this newsletter. Warning: it's sad yet picturesque for the end of Death, Desires, and Inner Demons, chapter 10). Thursday, I took a “rest day” and played Star Wars for eight hours, before working on some art until bed. IBS flared again, but I know why this time. I got back to sleep after a few hours on the couch watching/dozing to nostalgic movies (Princess Bride & Father of the Bride) until everything settled down. Friday went much more smoothly than the last few weeks.

Autumn’s Equinox is finished, going from 112,838 to 128,839 words which is 16,001 words, and I wrote a thousand or so words into Death, Desires, & Inner Demons while editing, oops! I did take chunks out some paragraphs too... Then I went and wrote 1,360 words of a deeply behind the scenes 'I don't know when or if anyone will see this' snippet. š My fingers and brain needed the tappy taps.
Total word count for this week: 18,361
August Goal: 65,000 current progress 47,410 (73%)
Editing
I’ve done MAJOR edits to Death, Desires, & Inner Demons! I have 11 chapters done which is halfway through the book! I’ve added the edits I’ve found in the listening of A Cruel Deceit (Kalista book 9) and last night I started reading A Dangerous Game to Matt. We managed to get through the first couple chapters before a friend popped in for a visit.
The new copy of The Fated Angel is with my dad! I "censored" it for him, thanks to a TikTok friend for that term.

The picture I stopped editing to draw on Wednesday night. This image refused to go away after I read this line in chapter 11 of Death, Desires, & Inner Demons: "It shattered the coffin around my heart..." followed by this line a few pages later: "My shattered heart throbbed among the remains of the coffin, and I didn’t know how to save it." Now you see the book is adequately titled, and those aren't the only lines that hurt.
