September is Here,
And it came in kicking, screaming, and making me wish I could crawl into my writer cave, do nothing but write, edit, and not be on social media or be around people until New Year’s. But I can’t because it’s my job, so here I am, posting my newsletter again…
New header has a damask background with the new logo in the middle and fiery wings to either side.
In the foreground are the books, Currently released to the Left and coming soon on the right!
Author's Life:
Time for a shit ton of disappointment. BUT FIRST, Thank you to everyone that helped, gave, and commissioned me for art this week! I won’t dox you here, but thank you! It means a lot! And also for my pre-orders, that was a pick me up that I needed. 🥹
Now to the disappointment. The Santa Fe was repaired by Tuesday, and the bill was larger than estimated. $780 turned into $833 when all was said and done. I had $600 of it Tuesday, due to saving half, commissions paid, and a friend being generous. I still needed $127 before yesterday. I ended up being short that much, so had to shuffle finances around to make it stretch, and after a few miles it started shuddering when I brake, so it’ll be going back in this week or next. 😣 It SUCKS because tomorrow is Dale’s birthday.
He’s not a big “celebrate my birthday” fan, he’d rather just have a quiet day at home, and that’s fine, but I’m going to do something special for him anyway via my art (hopefully). Because of all this stress, I’ve had my pedal to the metal with what I can control: Cleaning, books, and art!
I’ve been inputting the edits of Death, Desires, & Inner Demons, fixing the cover of that book, reformatting Dangerous Game, and editing Cruel Deceit. Also wrote a scene just out of the blue Thursday night. No real reason… I didn’t meet my word count goal for August… missed by a little over 15k. I did get 4 stories edited in that month, so that’s where my time went.
OH! I remade Vretil, Kalista’s Soul Enemy, in Genesis 9 for a picture from An Angel Enraged (it’s this week’s art too)… Thought about making it a comic for it, but I realized he’s nude the entire fight, so that would be tricky to keep pg-13. I might just try it… Test my art skills.
August Sales/funds Goal:
Goal for September has been adjusted to reflect the adjustment of the car repair.
September Goal: $1233
Progress: 57% ($705)
This Goal is met by people:
📚 Buying books (I have paperbacks in stock still from the convention in April): ebooks too from my website or anything (books or digital pictures) from my Ko-fi shop is the cheapest for you and best buy-to-bank for me as all other places take MONTHS to pay authors.
☕ Commissioning me via Ko-fi for Digital Art! I currently have sale listings for 16x9 character portraits (which can be used for Book Covers: 6 slots available) for only $50, and Chibi profile Pics for $20 (4 slots available).
🖼️ Or donating on Ko-fi (though, I'd rather you just buy art or something in the shop🥺I feel like a burden and indebted if people just donate.)
Note: Pre orders do not count toward the goal for the month… due to most of that money going to the book, the goodies, and the shipping.

Writing:
I wrote a few thousand words of a random piece that will probably never be seen by anyone, but that’s ok. It was just to get a scene out of my head, and it needs major work cause it wasn’t what I was going for, but we’ll see if I adjust it a bit this week. Oh, I also wrote 1,540 words on Sunday, which went toward the August goal. I failed to reach it, but that’s ok. I had a lot going on. I'm also not setting a September goal due to life and doing more art/editing PLUS Beta reading for Fated Angel Starts this week!
Total word count for this week: 4,536
August Goal FAILED: 49,654 of 65,000 76.96%
Editing
I’ve finished marking up Death, Desires, & Inner Demons, and reading A Dangerous Game to Matt! I've also input the 9 chapters of Edits for Death, Desires, & Inner Demons too! Only 13 more to go.
I've not heard from dad about The Fated Angel since last Saturday when he said he didn't find anything to edit until the 400s, and the book has 666 pages total! so that's awesome!

Art Feature
So, I contemplated not putting this up, but decided to do it anyway, because it’s pg-13, nothing showing, just implied. Here we have the scene from Angel Enraged Chapter 2 that opens the fight scene everyone’s been waiting for: Kalista VS. Vretil, time to follow through on the “Promise” Kalista made in the end of An Angel Falls.
Snippet from An angel Enraged: Chapter 2
In the middle of the dimly lit space was a large circular bed partly obscured by gauzy fabric that hung from the ceiling, but the bed was empty. I looked at the floor beneath me and cursed at the ward. Unlike the others I’d been sucked into, this one had no wall of power to keep me in. It just brought me here like some transportation device in a video game.
I scanned the room, but there was no one here. To the left was a set of chairs and a couch with a hearth beyond. It was just like in the Master’s Haven in Lashdanôke. Oh, fuck no. He recreated the scene from the night I burned him. My eyes darted to the right and sure enough, there was a door which probably led to a dungeon like the one where he held Beryx.
His presence filled the room, and my eyes returned to the bed. He reclined near the headboard, wearing nothing but the sheet with Cadence laying behind him in the same state of undress. She looked happy and whole with her arms around him, but there was fear in the center of her aura as he hid her from view.
“I see that Mi Kita (Demoki: my sister) did as I asked,” he purred, running his hand over Cadence’s thigh. I wanted to tell him to stop, but she leaned down and kissed his shoulder. I shuddered but kept my eyes on his face.
“I’m done running from you, Vretil,” I spat his Angelic name, and his eyebrows rose as I slipped my knives into their sheaths. “I’m going to enjoy ending you.”

Even though this month came out swinging with its chaos, and even though you didn’t quite reach your previously set word goal, I am proud of you. Though it may not feel like it at the moment, things will work out, and will look up. I’m definitely worried about your car though… it’s really not good that it’s making sounds like that when it was just fixed…. And I’m hoping it’s just a simple and easy fix…. Proud of you for continuing to get back up when life keeps trying to knock you down, and I’m excited for the next beta read!
