We’ve made it through week 1 of 2026! This week has been rather good to me, and I’m happy to say that there were no major issues, relaxing and recouping from vacation has been the theme for the week. I also started a brand-new book, which wasn’t planned.

This year I'm only doing seasonal changes to the picture. For Winter, we have Astrid in the snow.

Author's Life:

      Nothing new to report here. The week was normal. Writing, gaming, and posting to social media about the books, the beta reading, and arc reading was all I did. My knee is still acting up after vacation, but it’s getting better. I may need to schedule another injection for it though… just the normal 6 month one. I think it’s about time for it again.

      Well, as the introduction said, I have started a new book 😅, which means I’ve not been working on A Soulmate of Her Own. It’s still at the same 70,500 from last weeks newsletter. I have however written 20,400k words into the new book, Ballad of the Winged Wrath (Thank you to Matt for that title).

      Total word count for the week: 20,400 words

Editing:

     I’ve not gotten back into editing FATED ANGEL yet… with the new book started, I haven’t gotten time to read to Matt again. Oops! Will get back to it this week though!

     For those of you who have been wondering about Maxine. She isn’t able to edit for me right now 🥺. Her household are going through health issues, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, especially her oldest son. They have some major medical appointments ahead of them for him.

       In light of that, both Deanna and Delilah have stepped up to help for the next few books and I couldn't be more grateful for them. 💜🖤 Right now, they and Matt are all editing Cookies & Rage to get it ready for Beta Reading in February!

     This week’s picture is one I made for the new book Ballad of the Winged Wrath, which will be published April of 2028 and takes place around the time of A Dangerous Game (Kalista book 8). This is Doctor Aleta Menis, who cameos VERY BREIFLY in An Angel Enraged, (Kalista book 7) in the dress featured far left, introduced as Assistant Director Aleta Menis. The middle picture is her casual out of the office duty outfit. The far right is her business attire and her office in Seattle, Washington. This book is not normal for me in many ways, but it's a good break from routine... maybe.
