Write & Spite
Some weeks, I think I survive purely to write more and out of spite for whoever decided to curse me with all these genetic defects. Sunday-Tuesday was business as usual, doing all the things and making good headway. Wednesday night took a bad turn…

You can help by supporting my business:
π Buying books: ebooks from my website or anything from my Ko-fi shop is the cheapest for you and quickest buy-to-bank for me as all other places take MONTHS to pay authors.
β Ko-fi is also a great place to commission me. I have 16x9 character portraits up for only $50, and Chibi profile Pics for $20.
πΌοΈ You can also just donate on Ko-fi as well. Payments are secure and I’ve never had a breach from them. EVER!
Author's Life:
TLDR: Start of week was good, end was bad due to drinking 2 oz. of Monster (Viking Berry)
which contained Red40…
As I said in the Intro, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday were good days with many words written, business consistency (aside from Migraine on Monday) and just life as usual. Wednesday night however, I accidentally had a Monster (Viking Berry), and 2 oz in I didn’t feel quite right. I looked at the label and knew why. It contained Red40.
Now, Red40 is bad for everyone, just look at all the countries that have banned it in products, but for me specifically, it triggers an IBS flare (Abdominal pain and “purge”), Migraine, and itchy spots on my hands, along with bodily aches and pains.
Wednesday night, I had a lot of pain and defaulted to a “virtual killing spree” (aka, Gaming on Star Wars the Old Republic) until my body would let me sleep at around 6 a.m. Thursday. I woke up with a splitting migraine only 5 hours later. It was so bad I had the curtains drawn and my sunglasses on. I decided on a “No Screen, No sound” day, which left me with red pen editing Death, Desires, & Inner Demons (The Summer 2027 release).
Thursday night into Friday, I tried to get to bed early to make up for the sleep deficit incurred the night before, but could not get comfy. Between abdominal pain, leg pain, back pain, before my IBS Flared, which left me with exactly 1.5 hours of “sleep” according to my watch. This isn’t ideal any day, but worse on a Friday.
Friday is usually errand day and when I write the newsletter, but between the lack of sleep, intense pain shooting down my right leg, and my stomach not being able to accurately say if it needed food or if it would reject it instantly, I wasn’t going anywhere. So, I had groceries delivered. I ordered at 9 a.m. and had to wait up until 1:05 to receive the delivery.
Everything went relatively smoothly, nothing was forgotten or missing, and the driver was very nice. Then I took a 3-hour nap. It was restful, but woke with a headache due to weather and I’m out of my normal meds due to insurance being a pain about letting me have it. Or that’s what I gather since all the pharmacy app says is “It’s delayed”, which happened last time too.
Friday night, I did in fact write this newsletter so it would post on Saturday Morning, but that’s all I really did Friday besides start a larger digital drawing project that is currently halfway-ish done… I also watched the Devil Wears Prada 2, which I have to say was AMAZING! I loved the characters arcs, seeing the original cast 20 years later, and all that was amazing. A Sequel is rarely done well, but this one took the cake!
I’m hoping today will be better for me and a good “start” to a new week. Wish me luck!
The Books:
Writing:
Autumn’s Equinox was at 85,980 words last week, and this week it’s soared to OVER 100k! It sits at 102,220 words. It’s closer to done, but all the twists and turns have me (and Lilah too) on the edge of our seats! I also edited 800-ish words into Death, Desires, & Inner Demons, so there’s that as well.
Total word count for this week: 17,065
August Goal: 65,000 current progress 26.2%
Editing
So, I completely forgot I needed to red pen edit Death, Desires, & Inner Demons until I had that bad Migraine Day on Thursday. I got through the first 4 chapters and the prologue making lots of marks on the pages. I didn’t go over this book as much as others, so that’s why every page has SOMETHING on it. Seeing Missy’s internal struggle and Meili being unhinged and blunter than his twin (Thor) is adorable. You can read an intriguing and semi-romantic 2 part snippet over on BSKY. Part 1 and Part 2.
I hope to get more edited this week, and also HOPEFULLY, get to read a bit to Matt from Kalista book 8, A Dangerous Game. AND The Fated Angel Proof #2 should be here Wednesday, right on time for Dad to read it over… After I censor it appropriately. π

Art Feature
This week has been more art commissions, pre order goodies, and Cover Art for Autumn’s Equinox than art I can show off right now. HOWEVER, I did make this picture of Kalista and her “Black Beam” which is a “Maximized” 1959 Chevy Impala that appears in Kalista book 9 (A Cruel Deceit) and reappears in Kalista book 10 and beyond. Thank you to Matt for Maximizing the Blackbeam!
Note: “Maximized” is the term for when Mad Max modifies a car for someone. It’s what the hound does in his spare time, and usually gives them as gifts or sometimes, if you’re lucky, will do so if paid (as in the case of Sean O’Malley, owner of a Pub in Seattle, who appears in a soon-to-be published Duology).
If you would like art like this or a short story, you can commission me and help me pay for health insurance (and care), car fixes, and unexpected expenses!
Feel free to leave me a comment at the bottom of the page about what you thought or if you had a question. I'll reply... promise.

Proud of you for getting through the second half of this week. You really did an amazing job. I still agree with Matt about the trilogy comment.
