Curse of the Klutz...

       I finished my antibiotic on Thursday, had some mild nausea, and a migraine after it wore off, which activated the “Curse of the Klutz”, and this time, it got me good. 😭

Author's Life:

     This week has been a rest and recover from the infections by editing, playing video games, and just resting… Besides a Dentist appointment Monday which confirmed that I need teeth pulled/root canal and was referred to a specialist. Then Thursday when I had a follow up with my G.I. doctor. Good news on that front, I don’t have to see them again! Unless something unfortunate happens and I have GI problems, I no longer need to see them every 6-9 months, YAY!

    Bad News: Coming out of that appointment, I was walking to my car, stepped off the curb (on purpose). What I didn’t see the shoddy bit of pavement right there, and I rolled my right ankle, dropping me to sit on the curb. Pain, black spots, had to sit there for a solid two minutes, just focused on breathing to calm the nausea that spiked.

     I limped to my car, and managed to drive home. Thank you to my friend, AJ, for calling so I could talk to him all the way home and not focus on the ow. I was in so much pain when I got home that I contemplated going to Urgent Care that night but managed to convince myself to wait and R.I.C.E for the night (R.I.C.E. = Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation for those unfamiliar with injuries like this). 😣

     Friday morning, it was still in pain. 6/7 while at rest, and nothing helped meds, R.I.C.E., pain cream: no improvement. I decided to get it checked out and Mom drove me down to Urgent Care (which is less expensive than an Emergency Room), and well, I’m glad we did. Because I have a closed avulsion fracture of the lateral talus*. They splinted my leg with a plaster and ace contraption which I have to wear for 1-2 weeks until I see the orthopedic. 

      Speaking of the ortho, I tried to call the office after their usual lunch time but they must’ve taken a half day, because the office was closed. I’ll have to call Monday to get an appointment either this coming week or next. Until then, it’s minimal time on my feet, using crutches, no water to the splint, and feeling like even more of a burden/invalid… lovely. 🙄

*Note: A Closed Avulsion Lateral Talus Factor is a specific medical diagnosis indicating that a small fragment of the outer Talus (the main weight-bearing ankle bone) has been pulled or chipped off by a straining ligament or tendon.

      I’ve been editing and writing more into a few books this week. Haven’t been able to concentrate on just one due to sick and pain, so Dirge of the Betrayed, Cruel Deceit, and the Stolen Soulmate have a few more words in them. 😅

Editing

    I haven’t edited any more of A Dangerous Game (Kalista book 8). As I said above, I’ve been editing various books when the brain demanded. Beta readers are doing great though!

Art Feature

      Decided to do a picture of Aisha “Hope” Aamani this week, which then developed into a few NSFW pics that’ll be up on the other site Monday, but this one is very much SFW and just so pretty. Hope is the FMC of The Stolen Soulmate, and shows up in The Fated Angel briefly as well as Life After You. She is an Angeles of Creation, Empathy, Hope, and Life. She’s the last Angeles of Hope that has not fallen.
