It’s October 3rd…

       If you know, you know. 😉 But! After the absolute shit storm of September, I’m glad to report that October is being much nicer to me… I still have pain, brain fog, trouble concentrating, and someone keeps making time fly, but I have good news about my ankle, sales, AND betas too!

Author's Life:

     This week, I’ve been a bundle of nerves. Cleaning, organizing, making art, drawing, and trying to write/edit but my brain just won’t concentrate for more than half an hour at a time on anything but art, because Friday morning was my orthopedic appointment. Every time I turned around it seemed like another hour or five had slipped by when I wasn’t looking, so I feel like it rushed by without me doing anything, but I can see that I have been quite productive.

     For big personal news: Friday morning, I was a WRECK. I only slept 4 hours and 44 minutes, was shaky, anxious, and doing my best to keep it together. Nana drove me up to the orthopedic in the rain in rush of “get to work” traffic, but we got there in the nick of time. After an hour and a half of being there, got the good news that my ankle ISN’T BROKEN! Thank God!

     However, I did badly sprain the ATFL (Anterior Talofibular Ligament) which connects the talus to the bottom of the fibula (known commonly as the ankle bone). Doctor Jess, the orthopedic, said the Urgent Care techs might have seen the tiniest of bone fragments on their Xray (which she didn’t have access to just got the “results” of), but the Xray’s the Ortho took today didn’t show any breaks, fragments or anything.

    What’s that mean for pain and so forth? 2-3 weeks of wearing a walking boot, then 2-3 weeks in a gauntlet splint. I have a follow up with Doctor Jess in a month on November 6th where we’ll reassess pain and healing, possibly start PT after that. AND I also have an appointment to FINALLY get my tooth taken care of (yanked) on November 16th!

      This week I was very nervous and scattered. I wrote a few hundred words to Dirge of the Betrayed (Book 2 of the Angel of Wrath Duology) which I’ll be concentrating more on so I can finish it before November when I’ll focus on Conman Falls. I also added a handful of words to Stolen Soulmate while editing… then a few hundred more words into a NSFW piece featuring FMC and love interest of Stolen Soulmate. That gives me a bit over a thousand words, which is better than I thought.

     Total word count for this week: 1,050

Editing

    I haven’t edited any more of A Dangerous Game (Kalista book 8). As I said, I’ve been unable to concentrate on much of anything and only for half hour, but ADG has been in my purse all week 😣. Beta chugging right along!

Art Feature

      This week, I decided to make an “In the office” picture, which I have been trying to make every year. Last year, somehow, I forgot. So, here is this years “In the Office” picture of my Me model. I was so set on my ankle being broken, that I gave her a cast, but lo and behold, NO BREAK, just bad ligament sprain and oh so much pain. 😖
